Hi ,I am a chinese girl ,I am 17 years old .I figure different race girl you should talk to her in different way.In the fareast,the girls usually feel shy when they make friends with male.Though the floks' mind is became more and more open,they also can't do like western girls.
I think you can say something which the girl like.

just be yourself,say hello tell her your name find out if you have any common interests do you know any of the same people my closest friend is a male and he is nuts we accept and respect each other the way we are. we don't try to change each other unless it's something that will sometimes or could get you in hot water

be your self dont think
let you heart deside what you say
if you like a girl you have to make sure that she is interested in you and then talk to her more often and ask her out
but talk to her anyway
just be your self
