First thing first, what is your OS version and who is your manufacturer of the computer. That will depend on booting into safe mode.

Normally, it is usually F12, F8 (the default in general), or F6 but it depends on the OEM (computer manufacturer).

Delete Button could work but usually it goes into the BIOS.

But since you are getting into your boot screen and you do not see safe mode then there is a work around it: (assuming Win XP)

1) Boot your computer and get to the desktop
2) Start --> run
3) Type "msconfig" and type ok
4) You will be in the msconfig menu and click on "Boot.ini" tab
5) Under Boot Options, check safe mode box
6) Click OK and restart your computer

Since I do not know your OS version, let me give you a link for older OS (as well as the one I mentioned and know about)

I've had a look in the 'help' on mine and it says to hold down the F8 key, not the F12. That's for windows XP.

As your computer starts up, before the Windows logo shows, tap the F8 key to get a list of startup options.

Try F8. Even though it says F12 sometimes, I did F8 instead, and it worked, so, try it.

Don't run with that! You'll put an eye out.

Try F5 on boot.
