There is a chemical reation that occures during the kiss... Most people close their eyes to focus on the experience rather than the activity around them. One wouldn't want any distractions... Just the deep exploding excitement and passion caused by the kiss.

People shut their eyes when they kiss so that they can just swim with the emotion that's being caused with the kiss. Its so much better at times that way.

This comes from our childhood notion of being close to the mother. We have many nerve receptors on the lips, and kissing takes us back to our baby days when we would succle at the nipple. This state is when the child feels safe and protected, and thus when we are kissing, this is also a situation when we put our trust in each other, and hence why we are able to close our eyes and embrace.

Personally, I just like to close my eyes and melt into the person I'm kissing. No outside distractions that way.
However, from a biological standpoint, being that close to another object can wreak havok on your eye sight (inability to focus correctly), and I think it's a preventative mechanism of the human body. There are a few who don't, but it's far more common to close the eyes at that moment than not to.

The body language of kissing when two people are in close harmony, is when two indivuals close there eyes they proof to each other that this is a special moment for each other. By closing there eyes there is alot of concentration and feelings express.

Lol several reasons
1) If I open my eyes I giggle 'cos I get embarrassed
2) It makes you more aware of the sensation
3) It allows you to concentrate purely on what you're doing
4) It lets you think about something other than what that pigeon/man/fly/peely bit of wallpaper is doing
Also, opening your eys kinda implies you're looking for something else, or trying to invite a different reaction from your partner, and they tend to react by feeling your eys on them and sayiong "what?" It acts as a kinda stop sign.
And you lose your concentration...

Well whenever you kiss your partner or whoEver, asked them to keep their eyes open and while you kiss look at her......Once you`ve done it, you will never do it again. Just spoils the whole moment of whatever.
