i watched it with my lil cousin and i thought it was not too bad, except the stupid basketball scenes where they got people who never dribbled a ball before. other than that, it was vocally entertaining.

I thought it was well-made, had good choreography, and catchy songs. The acting wasn't terrible for a Disney Channel Original movie either. Oh, but Troy's dad (the basketball coach) was a terrible, terrible actor. Disney channel adults generally are though...
However, as a whole, I kind of hated the movie. I thought it was annoying, and high school wasn't portrayed very accurately. Part of the point of the movie was that stereotypes aren't always right, but they might have not made all the characters stereotypes if they had actually wanted to demonstrate this.
Alos, it would have been nice to actually, you know, see the musical.
