I believe a person should be famous for a talent and not there private life, so why are we so interested in these peoples private lives?

Because most of us are human. It is our instinct to be curious, or in the case of women, nosey. Bet you look into a house at night if the curtains are open, or flick open a diary someone has left lying around, see, to err is human.

For some reason we have this Perception that the Celebrities have this great and wonderful personal life, after all, they have all that money, and when we hear of the Trial and Error that they come into, it is only natural to be interested in their demise, makes them seem more human in the Public Eye, and others do like to gossip and give their opinion. But I do agree with you, they should be appreciated for their Talent and not the Bull that goes on with their Private Lives.

Initially, people do become famous for their talents. They just continue to be famous way beyond their prime by exposing their private lives. It is almost impossible to not know what is going on with famous people. It's on the cover on magazines, Internet homepages, the local news, it is always in our faces trying to make money.

I dont know why.A lot of people do it and its annoying to me too.I try to keep a clear mind when picking or judging a celebrity.What they do in their personal life doesnt offend or bother me one bit.Who am I to judge anyway,and its not like WE ever know the entire story.Take Brad Pitt for example.I always liked him as an actor and as a man.What he has been doing in his personal life hasnt changed my opinion on him one bit.I still admire him just as much.What do I care anyway?I have my own family to worry about.Like I'll ever know the entire story of what happened anyway.People are always quick to judge other people and thats annnoying to me.Brad Pitt was like a "God"for many people a couple years back and now everyone despises him.Why?How do we know that his ex wife wasnt to blame for the divorce?We judge based on what we hear from other people.In that case,I've heard some not so pretty things about Aniston too,but all of a sudden she's the victim.Whatever.Its easy to judge when you're not the one dancing!Thats all I can say.

The media tell us to. Over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. It is brainwashing of a kind.

Try an experiment. Do not watch commercial t.v. or read a magazine or newspaper for a month and take notice of whether you feel you have missed out on anything or if you find that in fact you have missed very little at all. You might in fact find out that the very stuff that was being trotted out a month before might just sound very similar to what is being said a month later when you tune in or read you first magazine.

Because the media sem to think we ought to be interested. 90% of celebs have no talent to speak of and I, for one, don't really care how 'celebs' are wearing their hair or clothes or who's pregnant or splitting up for the millionth time!

You are so right, why should we care about celebrities personal lives. Who cares about John Prescotts personal life, who cares about Madonna personal life and who cares about Brian McFadden (ex Westlifes) personal life.
