No...I don't think it is too early to take a test. I took a test (answer pregnancy test from wal-mart) a full seven days before my period was even due and it was positive and yes i was pregnant.

A home test can show you are pregnant about 19 days after you conceived.
A blood test will show you are pregnant 7 days after conception.

Good luck

Last month I went through the same thing and I did test early, I used one of those First Response HPT's. I tested 5 days earlier as the box said I could but it was negative. I was determined that I was pregnant so I kept testing until I one day got my period. I was disappointed when it came and mad that I kept testing early for nothing. You definetly can test early (up to 5 days before your period) with the First Response test but I wouldn't recommend it because either way your period is going to come or not. As excited and anxious as you are I would wait until that missed period so you don't mess to bad with your emotions.

I wouldnt do a pregnancy test for a few more days. You may get a negative reading and this will only dishearten you, although it may not be accurate.. so there is no point in upsetting yourself unless you are sure. I would busy yourself with other jobs and set a time and day next week to do the test. Look forward to taking it but in the meantime keep your mind busy and active and the day will be hear in no time!

Today's modern pregnancy tests pick up a hormone known as HCG....human chorianic gonatropin (I may have mispelled it). They are very sensitive, and only need a MINUTE amount of this hormone to trigger a positive response.

Normally, I would still advise you to wait until 3 days after missing a period, but yes, the test can show a positive result prior to.

Mine started showing up positive (all 4 of them) about 2 weeks before my period. I also had the implantation bleeding though, so as far as I knew, I never missed a period. Like another poster said, it takes a teeny amount of HCG for the test to detect it. If you are a few weeks in, you shouldn't have a problem. Can't hurt to try!

some tests can pick up the pregnancy hormone up to 4 days before your period is supposed to start but i's only like 40 percent of the time. just wait a few days so you don't waste your money.

No, you can take home pregnancy tests up to a week before your period is due, but if it's negative you should retest in a couple days just to be sure!!

you'll get a better reading after youre late.

the early tests are only 60% effective before the first missed day of your period.

Its not too early for a blood test from yoru doctor though.

I took the "Early Responce" pregnancy test and it showed up faintly and I was on one week along. I used this with all 4 of my pregnancies.
