I don't want to and don't have the money to pay to get the sites for the legit surveys that pay dollars for taking them. I have only found sites that say they will pay you but its "points" which you have to sign up for stuff to get them, or they are giving you a "ticket" for a reaffle/sweepsteaks and never win a thing. I've taken a ton of those kinds of surveys. I have heard that there are sites you can get paid bonafide bucks to take surveys but I don't know the sites. Can someone tell me what they are?

The rule, as always, is to stay away from those that ask you to pay before you can get these surveys.

Legitimate market survey companies such as Pinecone Research recruit members based on demographic characteristics -- e.g. mothers of babies 0-12 years old -- and will send surveys of products and services targeting this demographic group. Pinecone Research, however, pays only $5 per survey -- you're definitely not going to be rich with that. They can give you anywhere from 1-5 at most surveys in a month.

Other companies simply ask you to answer as many research as possible, and you don't earn anything just the chance to win at a raffle (which I find lame).

If you think what your opinion is really worth to them (or to the companies that hire them to do the survey) then you realize they are not going to give you big money for a few minutes of your checking off boxes on a survey.

I use Survey Spot with the expectation that not much will come from it. if the survey is on a topic I care about and it takes five minutes or so I give it a try. Survey Spot is good since they will give you an entry into their contest for each survey you start rather than only if they don't disqualify you after you have started ("wrong demographic - not who we are looking for"). If the survey turns boring I get myself out by saying that I never heard of the ads they are inquiring about. They then immediately say that I am entered and they are sorry that I will not be asked to complete the survey.

I have won some prizes in the $25 - $50 range from their drawings. I have never won $10000 or free gas for a year. It is less effort and expense than buying a daily lottery ticket, Just don't get your hopes up or put noticeable brainpower into it.

I've listed some of the sites I have taken surveys through and actually been paid (or recieved other rewards like gift cards or CDS) on the following, if you are interested. None of them you have to pay for or sign up for other offers for.

I list how they pay you, what I like and dislike about them, whether they have an affiliate or referral program, etc.

There are others out there. Be careful though, there are also scams. Don't sign up for any survey site which asks you to pay to access the surveys. Also watch for language like "get paid for taking surveys AND SIGNING UP FOR OFFERS" if you don't want to have to sign up for stuff with other companies to get paid.

Always carefully read their terms of service and privacy policy. If in their privacy policy they say they only use aggregated info, this is GOOD SIGN they are legit. Aggregated info information that is grouped together so it can't be connected with anyones personal identification like name, e-mail, phone or address. That's what survey sites SHOULD collect. Watch out for sites that say they give, rent, or sell any personal information (info that is not agregated) to third parties.

Also just recently came across a good survey ratings site that I've found very helpful:

Many servey for cash and prizes are scams i found a few that arn't though!

1. The first link is a program called EmailCash which is legitimate.

2. KangarooKashBack is a program that you click stuff and make money. This is not a scam as i do it and they make a percentage out of the clicking.

3. What Do You think is a good program but a harder one to make money!

4. Sweet Collect does the same as KangarooKashBack but you can make so many sweets. You could sell them I guess!
