Thanks, everyone! Everyone replied with compassion, good advice, and even a joke! The "pitty party" is over, I met a new person online, and yes - it is Saturday - "do something with it!"
Thanks weveryone, more than you know!

Hi. Sometimes it is almost impossible. Like you, I have been down so long it looks like up to me. But hey, look, we are both still here. Two women who have every reason to curl up in a fetal position in the corner, and we are still here. There is a force of life and hope within you, within every woman, that will not be denied. We are life. So no matter what your world seems like right now, never forget that you are alive and therefore changing and growing even as we speak. Your situation is not permanent, it is only a passage into another experience. Let the tide carry you gently. You will be alright.
And as for a joke to make you smile, in the spirit of the season: why did the little ghost have to sit back from the campfire? He didn't want to burn his halloweenie.

I figure I will keep smiling until the end. They will have to wipe the silly grin off my face before they bury me!
I am also middle age, kids grown, intelligent, compassionate, and single.
I finally have the time in life to do the things I have always wanted to do. I don't have to rush home to cook dinner, answer to anyone else, or be held accountable to another person.
I have a job that I love, and one of my kids calls me every day to check up on me. I am finally getting the rewards in life that I have worked for all these years.

Yesterday is but a dream
and tomorrow is only a vission

and every tomorrow a vission of hope

A smile only takes one more muscle than does a frown
Muscles involved in a "zygomatic" (i.e., genuine) smile:
Zygomaticus major and minor. These muscles pull up the corners of the mouth. They're bilateral (one set on either side of the face). Total number of muscles: 4.
Orbicularis oculi. One of these muscles encircles each eye and causes crinkling. Total: 2.
Levator labii superioris. Pulls up corner of lip and nose. Bilateral. Total: 2.
Levator anguli oris. Also helps elevate angle of mouth. Bilateral. Total: 2.
Risorius. Pulls corner of mouth to the side. Bilateral. Total: 2. Grand total for smiling: 12.
Principal muscles involved in a frown:
Orbicularis oculi (again). Total: 2.
Platysma. Pulls down lips and wrinkles skin of lower face. Bilateral (though joined at midline). Total: 2.
Corrugator supercilii (bilateral) and procerus (unilateral). Furrow brow. Total: 3.
Orbicularis oris. Encircles mouth; purses lips. Unilateral. Total: 1.
Mentalis. Depresses lower lip. Unilateral. Total: 1.
Depressor anguli oris. Pulls corner of mouth down. Bilateral. Total: 2. Grand total for frowning: 11.

A couple were married and, following the wedding, the husband laid down some rules. "I'll be home when I want, if I want, and at what time I want," he insisted. "And, I don't expect any hassle from you. Also, I expect a decent meal to be on the table every evening, unless I tell you otherwise. I'll go hunting, fishing, boozing, and card-playing with my buddies whenever I want. Those are my rules," he said. "Any comments?"
His new bride replied, "No, that's fine with me. But, just understand that there'll be sex here at seven o'clock every night... whether you're here or not."

Wickedchef, I have to go through all that stuff yet, even having kids in the first place, (provided I can find a husband). Does this make you feel better? I hops so, I am not trying to be sarcastic or funny. Best wishes.

Keep your chin up, someone always has it worse than us. Start going out , my friend join a group "without partners, she has done all kinds of stuff she never had before. Do something you have always wanted to but never did. You have always wanted to... but were worried about if you could, what others would think, just do it. Start connecting with people, try going to church in your area, more contemporary, you can have a lot of fun you just need to get out there!! Go For It
