Change your approach.
You are dealing with a different culture.
Asian girls are still influenced by generations of tradition. You'll need to be more sincere and patient.
As an Asian woman, I promise you that young Asian girls in the United States don't "think they're all that". If anything, the reverse is true. They feel awkward and uncomfortable in the west, even if they are 2nd and 3rd generation Asian. They have rigid parents and culture pulling in one direction and western culture pulling in the other. They feel out-of-place when away from home.
Asian girls are no different than others girls. They still think you're "hot". They have the same hopes, dreams, likes and dislikes. They are just better at concealing them. It is part of their heritage to "save face". Outward displays of emotion are frowned upon. If they are attracted to you they will not show it, even if they are dying inside for you to talk to them.
Asian girls dislike rejection just like anyone else. They have very effective defenses in place. With a little patience and sincerity, you might do better when you "step to them".
Of course, there are exceptions. But the majority of Asian girls are not going to jump into your arms just because you turned on your charm. You'll need to make them feel very Very VERY comfortable and trusting. Sincerity is the only way. Approach her group and you are doomed. Smile and say hello when she is alone. She is not going to respond favorably at first contact. You'll need to approach her more than once.
So who ya gonna believe? All these non-Asian people who replied or an Asian woman who knows the inside scoop?
A little dilligence will pay off and Hey!... We are worth it!

Answer is simple. Did you ever visit Asian countries? I think you never visit. Asians are very specific in their culture. Making a boy friend/ girl friend is not that much important in Asian countries. Other way, the culture and living styles are not supporting this type of friendships. Here we have boys+ boys and Girls+ girls (no sexual relation in it). Actually we don't like to follow American and European style and culture. Commonly we have connection with the other sexual community, only after marriage. I think that's only reason, that you couldn't make a friendship with Asian girls.

It's just the way we are. Our culture is kind of shy. It's normal in east world. So maybe they don't think they are special. Don't take it personal.

A lot of Asians wish that they aren't Asian. However, a lot of Americans wish that they are Asian. No one will ever be satisfied.

Now are they in America right now? If they are, I think it's the fact that they are in another country and they stick out. They use that to their advantage and act cocky because they think they're better. Perhaps, in their own community they don't stick out as much because they're all the same.
