I'm a mom and check my kids my space all the time, they don't like it but there are too many weirdo's out there and I feel must protect them. When I see something I don't like I just tell them to get rid of it. I know you kids love sharing the photo's but it's just an invitation for stalkers to see what you look like and find you with your profiles. My niece was stalked by a man, he found her at school, but because her school has great security, officers arrested him before he could get to her. He was from another state and wanted to meet her. This was his first offense also. He was approaching groups outside her school asking if anyone knew her, and thank God plain clothed officers picked up on him.
Be careful what you put on the web!

tell them that you ought with the intention to make your own judgements or a minimum of you ought with the intention to make your ideas up no matter if you should make a myspace or no longer. tell them you could set your web page to personal/block particular human beings and seem offline in case you do not favor to confer with particular human beings. tell them that you'll somewhat wrestle with human beings on line than consisting of your mum and dad in man or woman about something stupid like the privilege to make a Myspace. Then tell them that your grown up sufficient to go back to them and talk this somewhat than going at the back of their backs.

I am a parent. There are a lot of us out here perfectly knowledgable about our children's myspace profiles. For the most part, they are adolescent (duh!) expressions we tend to ignore so long as they are relatively harmless. You didn't really think we were all idiots, did you? With all the bad publicity lately, there are a lot of parents lurking in the shadows of myspace- so if you do have something on yours you wouldn't care to explain to yours, it might be a good time to re-evaluate the content of it. We really aren't as stupid as you would like to think.

set it to a personal profile so only your friends can view it. Tell your parents that Myspace has its own protection from perverts.

Hehe--well, I'm 21 so I encourage my mom to look at my MySpace profile when I want to make her squirm or give me that motherly "you're behaving in an unacceptable manner but there's nothing I can do about it" look. Good times.

My mom is one of my Myspace friends. I was shocked when she found it as it seemed a little "hip" for her taste. I still post the same rude dirty crap I always did though, what's she gonna do? ground me?
