If you split a banana longwise (mmm, makes me think of banana splits) those little black things inside are the seeds. Or so I always believed. But in researching your question I found this:
one cannot seed a banana tree,
still that kind of vegetal is reproduced and grows...
As many other plants they have an asexual reproduction,
where the new plants are identical in every respect to
the parent plant. The asexual reproduction involves no
union of cells or nuclei of cells, there are not mingling
of genetic traits.
Banana plant is a gigantic herb that grows from an under-
ground stem ( rhizome),and forms a false trunk with leaves.
There emerges a large flower spike, with numerous
individual flowers, that bends downward to become fruits.
After the plants had fruits, they die and are replaced
by others that arise from the underground stem, and
that process can keep on going for many years.
Right?

So if that's true, thanks for leading me to learn something pretty amazing this morning!

The tiny black seeds in the fruit you normally find in the store probably will not sprout, almost all of the grocery bananas are cloned plants, that's why they all look so similar.
You can actually purchase banana seeds for different, noncommercial varieties; these seed are larger and I have planted and grown a small banana plant from one.

Hi. You know I think the banana itself is the seed. Isn't it? Either that or the cute little banana elves grow them magically. I actually like that answer better, but then I was the girl at the back of the room in science class.

Those little black dots in the core of the banana you are eating are the seeds.
The plant scatters it seeds by the host that eats the fruit then eliminates the seed latter with the fertilizer. I just looked at rachelrag
answer and link very informative.

yes they do, when yo cut or bite into one that little Y shaped part in the middle are the seeds. Pineapples oddly enough dont have seeds though and have to be grown from the tops of other pineapples.
