Make sure you're saving your money all the time. Make the most contribution every year to an IRA. Contribute to a 401k plan at your work.
Live frugally, save every penny. Watch what you spend every time you go shopping. Stop going shopping except for basic needs.
Figure out what kind of income you want to have when you retire and estimate your life expectancy so you'll have enough funds to go the distance.
Pay off your mortgage, pay off all your bills.
You can retire early if you work at it now.'

You're still young. Be sure you get incentives to retire early. You'll be too old to find employment again, hence you need to invest your money wisely. Not unless you're rich in which case, do not shoot this question.

My financial advisor told me I could retire anytime - it just matters on how much money I wanted to live on. I'm still working...
