Definatly put your friendship first. Guys come and go but friends are for life.
Maybe put the situation to her as though a friend from your work/school is in the situation and see what she says.
Or ask her straight out. You're better off knowing sooner than later, cos you might grow love him more and it'll make it harder.
You'll know if your friend's 'ok' with it or not. Good luck :)

talk to your friend about it and tell her the truth , that you are falling in love with her ex boyfriend, the truth does hurt but at least you will have a clear conscience that you had told her before any thing happens if it does between you and the ex boyfriend....

.Explain to her that you want to date him. Don't ask for permission because if you do she might say don't do it and you'll be wanting to or sneaking around for it. If she gets angry try hooking her up with someone so he mind won't be on the past
