The weather in Boston is varied, but can get very cold in winter and very hot in Summer. When I lived there we had snow one week in April and then record breaking heat the following week.
I would say Srping and Fall are the best times to go.

I LOVE Boston. I live about an hour north of there - it's probably my favorite city in the world. But the problem with your question is that Boston is in New England. That means incredibly unpredictable weather -because so many storm tracks begin up here. But at any rate, if you're going on vacation in the fall (like NOW) then you're going to want some t-shirts and some longsleeved shirts, and lots of jeans. And a raincoat.

There's a saying in New England..."If you don't like the weather, wait a minute". It is totally unpredictable. You can count on the winter (late Nov.-April 1) being miserable but beautiful. Right now is my favorite time of the year. It is beautiful.

Today (10/1), it's cold and rainy. Mid-week however, the forecasters are calling for temps in the mid to upper 70s.
