No you are at liberty to ask your partner to leave, if you have children then usually the parent who has custody takes the house until such time as the children leave school or becomes a adult. If no children then try and be pleasant and talk about the arrangement, you usually sell the house or flat and split the money. If you are in rented accommodation then who has there name on the rent book has first claim on keeping the home.

hell no- this can be a real bad situation- but it depends on the couple, and depends on the situation. Some divorcing couples stay together for awhile, but maybe this just makes it harder when the time comes.

No way.

Either one can move out at any time. If there is a mortgage involved, depending on who is responsible and what the divorce court has decided the obligation must be kept to paying it.

no....there is no law that stipulates cohabiting together until a divorce is final. But...be careful moving in with a mistress or boyfriend. If there are children involved in this divorce......you could lose your chances for maintenance (alimony) if you're cohabitating with a boyfriend/girlfriend!!!
