No, it stays the same. That's because there's inherently too much malice behind some low ratings.

Yahoo ! Answers is an Online Forum where one can ask questions , Answer Questions or just View what others have answered . Yahoo disclaims about the accuracy of answers . I think the points System makes it addictive for us to use this . As for the Ratings , it is just that after Level 2 , one gets the right to rate answers . But there is no "official " Judgement .
So you need not worry . You won't lose any points if someone gives your answer low rating .
And 1 thing more:

No, you don't lose points for this but if you delete your answer then you will lose 2 points. See points table for more Information.

once you have earned your points for answering a question they remain yours, whether or not you receive a thumbs up or thumbs down rating is irrelevant and as you should be aware the only way to use points is to ask a question.

please atleast for the reader's sake don't add the Contents from cricinfo, just add the link-if anyone is interested they cud view!!!
Most of them at times tend to get irritated readin long essays or explanation, try to b short and simple!!!
