Of course not! It's still great to know people online, as long as you still have friends in the real world. You get to know about other cultures around the world, and what other people are like. Meeting new friends is never a bad thing, especially when, as you said, you have real best friends.
I understand, Yahoo! Answers is so addictive, especially when there are just so many great people here!

Having lots of friends of any kind is never bad! Who cares what medium you use to communicate through. In "the old days," people used to have pen pals that they never met in real life either; they just communicated through snail mail. Think of how much they would absolutely love things like IM's and email! Be grateful we live in a time where we can use technology like this, and be grateful for all the great friends you have! Anyone who tells you differently just doesn't know the value of friendship.

Friends for me mean more than people with whom i discuss my life. Well you have a lot of people with whom you always talk, that to text chatting forget talking. That gives you only a small part or small idea of the person you are talking to.There's much more to a person than what he can say or answer or chat. Its not bad to have internet friends but you should also have real friends with whom you can hangout, freak out, someone who would actually be withyou when you are in problem, somebody who can be with you even when you are not online. Thats more important i think, than just having friends to whom you can talk only when you are online. I mean find real people of the charecter you adore. These people are not much away from you. Just find them in real world. Hope you got what i said.

Internet friends mean nothing as there is no physical contact. Internet friends are for people who do not have a real social life and who plainly stimulate the human need of company, behind a screen.
it is dangerous to do so and if you continue to live through the Internet, you'll end up alone at your later ages.
Internet is great to find somebody but not to have continuous relationships virtually. Internet is great if used intelligently and can also be a poison if you get addicted to.
if you closely look at people who are totally absorbed with the net . you know the type of nuts who spread out their whole lives on their blogs with pics, well they all have serious problems inside themselves that they often even don't realise.
beware darling...beware...

As long as you remember that your cyber friends might not be what they represent themselves to be on the internet and don't go running off to meet with anyone it is perfectly fine to have internet friends as many as you can deal with is OK. We can never have too many friends cyber or otherwise. Remember to get away from the computer and spend equal time with you "live"friends and being out and about in the "real world". Keep things balanced and don't go running off to meet those you never met alone and you will be fine.

I don't think there' s anything wrong with having internet freinds, as long as it's not interfering with your 'real life' relationships. I think it's important to foster the online relationships at this point in our society, because in the future much of our business dealings will be done online. The days of the office will be gone, and we'll all work from home offices. With VPN, and fax, and voicemail, and email, and IM... who needs to sit in the office anymore??

Not bad at all honey, as long as they are 'safe' friends, If you know what I mean? Don't meet them anywhere outside of your e-mail or chat room unless people are with you or your parents know whats going on. Believe me! their are some real mean A...holes out there! so just be aware! Have a nice safe day.

The one big problem of having friends on the Internet, is you don't know if they are telling the truth about themselves. It's easy to lie about things when you're never face to face. I suggest that you never loan money or give them your address to anyone you meet on the Internet. Lot's of girls get in trouble with guys on the Internet. You read about it every day in the paper and hear it on the news. Just keep your distance.
