Won't make much difference unless you switch to a synthetic :)

It wont make much difference to the running but it will wear out much quicker if you dont use a decent oil. API, SE or better oil.
Drain from really hot, change the oil filter and refill with Castrol GTX or Tesco 5L for £ 8.99 oil (not 2 quid a gallon crap oil) with a tin of STP or Wynns, top up with the same oil if it needs it and change it every year. Check the spec API, SE or SF or higher.
Less than SE is ok for door hinges.
Dont prat about with synthetics at £ 30 a throw they are so thin they will just drip all over your drive
Most cars, (except Rovers), suffer severe camshaft wear if you use crap oil which will wreck the performance and can cause the car to get scrapped. this is why 15 year old Maestros fly and Novas barely move.

listen love I'm not being funny or nothing but if your going to run it on that cheap cra*p then you might as-well put chip pan oil in there!! honest get the oil changed and put a bottle of slick 50 in there and then start off with the dear high performance stuff have the synthetic stuff especially for your car because its a ereasonably small engine and its done 100.000 miles but at the end of the day if you dont want to look after it then carry on

No. My old corsa did 104k before it developed a serious camshaft/cambelt problem and had to be scrapped because the repair would cost more than the car. Save your money as if I know corsas (and I do from previous experience) with the mileage yours is on it will start clocking up some serious repairs in the near future.

As long as you keep plenty of the stuff in there and dont thrash it when the engines cold it wont make any difference mate, all that high mileage stuff is hardly any different just a load more expensive.

In all likelihood the Halfrauds oil will be manufactured by one of the majors anyway.

Expensive oil doesn't make your car run better. In fact there is only like four oil companies that all your different labeled oil comes from. Just whatever you do don't use Pennzoil.

No, save your money. Just keep it topped up (unless that's a Ferrari Corsa).
