For those who are unaware of the the nomenclature: menses is common usage referring to menstruation and menses as a period.

You should refer back to your doctor for medication relating to relieving symptoms of stress. You mentioned you've gained weight, however, you didn't mention you were trying to loose the extra pounds... if you are dieting to reduce the weight gain, (like skipping meals, not eating), that will stop your periods also.

By 'menses' I take it you mean your menstrual cycle?
Your doctor is probably right, but get a 2nd opinion.

It's good that after speaking to the doctor, you came to a legitimate source-a cesspool of ANYONE who has a computer, and too much time.

Now what is a menses, most women have their period.

Take iron and calcium tablets daily it will help you out.
