Well he is certainly getting paid through the roof. He has won the Champions league with Milan and a few Serie A titles. He became perhaps the worlds best all around striker there. But I heard rumors his wife was unhappy in Italy and he wanted a new challenge.
I really don't think he has anything to lose but his reputation as a striker. Really I don't think he fits with Chelsea's tactics but over time he may adapt and start netting more. Or better yet Chelsea go for a more balanced side and allow him to really play as he likes.

i think of so...I mean he went from great celeb at Ac Milan to being Drogba's omit-firing shadow at Chelsea. the form of soccer is so diverse at Chelsea and that i'm beginning up to doubt if Shevchenko is ever going to evolve. it rather is been some thing like 8 or 9 suits without objective...that's not the Shevchenko all of us understand and love...and it rather is surely not the Shevchenko Mourinho offered. i'd desire to declare that I do sense very sorry for him on the 2nd. i don't think that he's any much less of a participant, i think of he would be unable to flourish at Chelsea. He in simple terms seems so dejected after a shot at objective...I in simple terms prefer to grant him a hug and tell him that it is going to paintings out. i've got self assurance it is going to paintings out because of the fact regardless of his recent performances (or lack there of) he continues to be immensely proficient...

It shouldn't be called a "mistake". Chelsea is a great club, and Sheva went there for family reasons. It was either Chelsea or Manchester United.
He needs time to adjust to his team as well as the whole premiership. After that, there won't be any problems.

He din make any mistakes by transferring 2 Chelsea as he get a big sum of wage.He dun need 2 prove dat he's a good player coz he only need money 2 survive. If u r given a selection between reputation n wealth,i thq u wil b choosing wealth.Anyway,he still starting games 4 che,so he still hav chance 2 prove dat he's a worthy player of his wage.

Sheva is a great striker but he made a mistake when he decided move to Stamford Bridge...
Chelsea is a great club too but it's not fit with him, because Sheva's football style didn't match with premier league...his talent much more right in slower league like Lega Calcio or maybe La Liga...
well, we can see him always looks dizzy on field...he's not Sheva we knew when he still in AC Milan...
Maybe money plays a lot here or Sheva just wanna try something new but that's not a wise decisions...

Oh yes...I think he has a lot of adjusting to do because the style of football he played in Italy is really different to the English way of playing football. I think people expected him to adjust faster and it is sad that he hasn't because I do not feel that he is playing to the best of his ability!

The question would best put as "Did Chelsea FC make the mistake or not?"

No.
Chelsea made him a good offer and at his age, if he's ever going to get a chance to try to and play in another league at the highest level, this was it.
