Yes, I have certainly taken mine with me recently. I always close any brooches, in case somebody starts arguing that I might use the pin to stab the cabin crew and confiscates them. You certainly shouldn't risk your valuables in your consigned luggage, as you are not allowed to lock it and there has been a considerable amount of theft as a result.

By definition, you should take jewellery with you at all times, so in the cabin. That said, is it really neccesary to go travelling with your expensive jewellery? In any event you need to make sure that these are fully insured. Generally, for any expensive item, you need to look at your house contents insurance and what conditions are attached, rather than travel insurance. Travel insurance - any travel insurance - carries a maximum amount for any one article, usually about £250 - would this be enough?. Further, they require that you look after your items "at all times" to the extent that you cannot even go to the loo without taking them with you - otherwise you are not looking after them "at all times".

Yes, and they suggest that valuables be taken onboard with you. The only items that cannot be taken on board is nail files, clippers, butane lighters, flammables, or anything else that has a sharp edge or blade. Hope this helps
