At one year of age, a lot of food is now ok -- eggs, dairy, wheat, corn, fruits, vegetables, low-mercury fish, and tree nuts (as long as there's not family history of allergies to any of these). Continue to avoid shellfish and peanuts until age 2.
Everything should be cut small so it's not a choking hazard. At this age, different textures and tastes are exciting. My daughter was eating vegetarian sushi, Indian, and Tex-Mex by that point and we were finding out she loves spicy food.
Check out Cathe Olsen's cookbook, Simply Natural Baby Food, for some easy, healthy recipes.

The only things you should not feed your child at the age of one is seafood and peanut butter. They can develope allergies to these. What a few more months then start the p&J etc.

So you mean you havent been feeding your kid, solid food up to this point. One question: are you insane? Your kid can eat solids straight out of the womb and its important for his/her nutritional health. Gerber and other related products has tons of foods for newborns. Please dont do that again, gee whiz.
