Hi,i have been on the pill for 1 year and then went on the patch instead as i had depression with the pill. It is two years on and my question is, afer having a total of 3 years with contraceptive medicine in my system will it be harder for me to conceive? I have been of the patch for 1month and half but my partner is away and we have only been together for about 4 days but im still hoping it could happen sooner rather then later and it isnt a dragged out. can anyone help?

Hi!

I was on the pill for 10 years and became pregnant on my first ovulation after having stopped. Keep your fingers crossed :)

If you see it drags out, buy ovulation tests on http://www.accessdiagnostics.co.uk/acatalog/25_Ovulation_Test_Strip_Vials.html
I just bought another pack because it was so easy for baby one!

Good luck!

Actually when you have been on a contaceptive device like the patch or birth control it is easier to get pregnant once off of the contraceptive. It is said that with women over 30 that have been taking the pill or patch for many many years that it may cause difficulites, but to be honest I think you're fine. Try it out and see what happens, if anythin consult your doctor and let his know your concerns. Good luck

Well I got pregnant on the patch, and I think everyone just about has got pregnant on the pill, so the hormones can't be too strong. And both of these contraceptives still let you have normal periods, so I think you've got a good chance.

First of all go and see your doctor if you want to become pregnant, if you have been on the pill for too long, then you should come of the pill about 3months you want to try for a baby, ask your partner to use a condom, the reason is that your body gets rid of the medicine, and that you are clear, that is what the doctor told me before i conceived. see the doctor, they will check your blood pressure etc

You know what...stranger things have happened. People say to wait three months after the pill or a miscarriage to conceive. I got pregnant 2 weeks after a miscarriage this year. How is that possible?

I got pregnant the first time we had unprotected sex (were trying for a baby).... 21 weeks pregnant now. My sister got pregnant on the pill. Either we come from a ultra-fertile family, or stuff like that just happens sometimes. Good luck!
