I'm told Cowley Road in Oxford was the longest, but I'm sceptical. I guess they must have meant the longest named road, but it doesn't seem that long to me. Also, it changes name part way along. Anyone got a definitive list?

Maybe Watling Street, the Roman Road that runs from Dover to Wales, or Ermine Street, from London to York?

A1, from Trafalgar Square to Edinburgh. Don't get much longer than that.

Might be worth asking which road takes the longest to drive? For me, it must be the A47/A17 across Norfolk and on to Newark: it seems to take forever!
