Hey, here is Shereen from Egypt, Post Graduate student of Linguistics. In simple words Structuralism is the study and analysis of language on the basis the "Corpus", that is written or spoken piece of discourse. The Structuralism was called so because it was analysing language regardless of the meaning and depending only on the structure in hand. This way they were able to analyse foreign languages; so a sentece like (The frindles bungle bogously) into noun+verb+adverb structure without having to worry about what it means. Post structuralism is all the linguistic schools that emerged hereafter (Chomsky's Transformational Generative being the most prominent)
