i have 5 kids so have some knowledge on the subject! Quite often you find if you test too soon you'll end up with a false negative result. A false negative is not a definative no, especially so soon into a "pregnancy" , i have taken tests that have come up negative but like i said have 5 children! the only really reliable answer on an H.c.g based test (pee on a stick test!) is if it reads positive, then you know you are really pregnant, otherwise wait a couple of days and test again using first morning pee as higher in h.c.g hormone. spotting is also nothing to worry about, many women experience similar throughout the entire pregnancy. Dont worry too soon as stress can be counterproductive also, just chill get as much rest as poss and test again couple of days time

You may be pregnant or maybe your period is just late. There are some factors in life that can make you period late. Stress, diet, sleeping patterns. You may just be testing to early, you should wait atleast another week and re-test. If you are still getting a negitive result, then make an appointment with the OBGYN and get a blood serum test done. You will know for sure that way. The Doctors will then know what to do. Spot bleeding could be inplantation bleeding depending on when you got it. You usually get that around your expected date of your period. I hope this helps and good luck to you!

You could still be pregnant. A home pregnancy test measures the amount of HCG ( the pregnancy hormone) in your urine. Sometimes this level can be too low to show up on a urine test. A blood test is the only definite way to know. A period being 1 week late can mean anything though. I would either wait another week or so for your period. If nothing, then I recommend you go to the doctor to find out for sure.

I have heard from different people that depending on how long your on the pill, it takes several months to completely get out of you system. Maybe you are just stressed out right now. My husband and I are trying for a baby also, I know that stress can mess with your body and cause you to be late. My recent test came out negative I was 3 weeks late then I finally started and I have been on my period for 3 weeks, and it is sooo not fun. T/C Mamacita

Your period could be late because your anxious, and tests these days are pretty accurate because of the hormone you release.
Usually when your pregnant your breasts become swollen with sore nipples, nausea can kick in and you just don't feel the same as usual.Just try and stay relaxed about everything,go out have a good drink,it'll surprise you how many people get pregnant by just enjoying themselves. You can give up the good life as soon as you get caught.

Hello Kelly, I would not get your hopes up yet, periods can be late for all sorts of reasons inlcuding stress and sometimes the more you are tensed up waiting to see if you have a period this can actually deter the period from starting. I would not worry, if you have only been trying since April believe me it is not a long time and these things happen when you least expect it. Good luck to you and lets keep fingers crossed for this time, if not there is plenty of time.

Kelly, if you are one week late for your periods it will be too early to say that you are pregnant, even if you are spotting, give it another a week and a half, if you haven't come on test yourself again, it also could be that you desperately want to become pregnant, and your mind is playing with you, just relax it will happen when you least expect it, you are causing yourself stress this could be another reason why you are late. I know it is easy for me to say, when you want a child so much, but my advice just relax, because us women when we worry alot and we are stressed out our periods are late or too early. Good luck

Yes, you could. My sister had numerous negative tests before getting a positive one. Think back to when you should have ovulated, were you stressed at that time? Your period is usually always the same number of days after ovulation, you may have ovulated late.

Yes you could be pregnant, I would wait a little longer before doing the test again.... or if you want to know right away you can go to the doctors and requests a blood test.

Don't get your hopes up just yet.
Wait and see if you start feeling a bit sick in the mornings, and if you get painful boobs.
Remember, the tests can show false negatives, but not false positives.
Why not wait another week, then do another test.
