or should i remove it from the player?

Depends on quality of the batteries.If you have known brand on batteries then ok.many of companies pay for the repair of apparatus if battery leak is cause.but check it every week that nothing is coming out from battery.

If you're worried about the battery leaking, don't. As loong as you use the player once every three months, the battery will remain intact. Battery technology has advanced a lot these days.

You're fine, leave the battery in. Any more than a month of non-use and you need to remove the battery.

Keep it in the player unless you need it for your remote control.

yeah,why not?It going to explode or discharge.3,4 times a week is kind of a lot.
