i don't know what year your working with but the older 70s-80s only have 4 cab mounts and a bulk head where all your electric componates hook up on the firewall under the hood of coarse you have to unbolt the fenders and of coarse brake lines etc its a bit of work i changed a 1978Chevy into a 1990GM it took a while but i got it done and it looked great good luck my friend experience is the best teacher just take your time and for god sakes don't cut any wires unless you mark them first

All I can say is it is a lot of work. You will be able to use your cab and fenders on the short bed frame with no problems and most of your drive train and exhaust will work. You will have to shorten the intermediate pipe on the exhaust and shorten the drive shaft. Your detent cable will need changed and since you are going with a step side bed the frame will need chopped off a few inches in the back. The step side beds are just a few inches shorter than a normal bed. Other than that it is pretty simple. Hope I have been helpful.

If you want to do it right, Take both frames to a collision shop and have it done there. Might cost you some bucks. But it the long run you will have a truck you like . Rather than something MICKEY MOUSED. Believe me when I say there is a lot that can go wrong.

Yep on the CHEVY Trucks - Had my 1971 K20 since new w/217,000 Miles ! Just find a Tree & a Chain fall & buy 2 new Fenders,IF U want 2 step on them.

I'd rather push a Chevy than drive a Ford.

I personally drive a pimped GMC.

Sorry, I got no answer to your question.. thx for the 2 points.
