i wrote a letter to my local congressman recently stating that i believe that the year has too many months and that we should get rid of two of them i think this is reasonable and achievable, but, when i tell people this idea they think that i am joking and when they realise that i am serious they tell me that i must be completely insane.
I think i am being reasonable do you agree with me or not, also what do you think my congressman will say when he sends my letter a reply? do you think he will introduce the ide to parliament or not?

Although 10 months, 5 with 30 days and 5 with 31 days, would make more sense, it would be too difficult and expensive to change at this point of time. The work to remediate computer programs for a 10 month year would be huge (remember the "Y2K bug"?...this would be far worse). You'd also have convert dates to the new calendar (March 14 would become March 12, for example).

Come on, if a year has less than 12 months, the way it is now, everyone will feel that time is passing much faster... < 12 months and a year is gone. Seriously, if you think that time passes very slowly, think again. For those old people, or those who are getting old, they feel that time passes quickly... they have no time left. People who waste time when they were young also feels that they need more time to start afresh. So, start planning, think and make good use of the time you have now

first you should do some research. why a year has 12 months?and not all months have the same number of days. 365 days or 364 days ? Why 1 day has 24 hrs etc

when you find out the answers you will find out why you should not change it.

I don't agree w/you. As you get older, 12 months will seem like 8.
You'll wonder why theirs not more hrs. in a day. Don't rush time. We all are hear but a short time. Some longer, some shorter.
Be thankfull and thank GOD when you wake up to see another day.

Why not get rid of eleven of them. Then we could have one month per year. Or we could get rid of all of them. Then we could just put the day and year. For instance, 12/25/06 would become 299/06

Since over 6 billion people use the year the way it is, I think you've got a lot of convincing to do.

that's a good idea, except if we had less months our birthdays would come faster and we would get older faster. but christmas would come more often and i like christmas so i guess it has it's good as well as bad points. i think we should add a couple of months so we would stay younger longer. do you agree with this?

Man, you need something else to captivate your ardent attention and energy. Why not get involved in politics, for all your fighting and writing power?
