We are making too much of the old Umrao Jaan as if it was a masterpiece. Rekha was good in the movie no doubt. But records and excellence can be easily surpassed. If the team is dedicated enough.

I hate these people screaming "no way".. No way".
I think Aishwarya is far more talented than the overrated, over-actress Rekha.
Aishwarya is a heart-breakin' bi*** I give you that. But she is equally talented actress with an amazing face and body.. Rekha's beauty is no match to her.
Those who say that Rekha acts better, my answer would be that they should ask themselves. Who are they kidding?

1. She is immature than rekha when she did Umrao jaan
2. Rekha did her own acting ,but Aiswarya is doing the copy, and copy cant be original
3. Aiswarya has a pressure to do acting better than rekha
4. Face expressions are not so matured that she is going to do
5. Dance is an weak point. In devdas madhuri helped her but here, she is alone
6. Topic is old and not match this generation

Rekha is the ultimate Diva, she is Seductress,amazing woman though with her own craziness...
Whereas Ash is the glam doll,photogenic....though with her own coldness....
In umrao jaan movie,ash wud not be another rekha nor she can be, acting is not in her skills.....
Any director can make Rekha act,acting is natural to rekha, whereas for ash,only selected few directors can make her act like Sanjay leela bansali n mani rathnam...acting is an effort to ash not natural....

Although Ash can do well but I am cocksure tha she can't match our yesteryear queen Rekha. Like every common man differs from other common man, in a similar way, even a celeb or any other professional differs from other celeb or a professional.

I don`t think so cause movie stars change thier looks and thier way of acting but they do not change the way they talk, behave, style etc...
One has to work hard for it and the result for such a person can be bad 60% whether the person acting is a very famous personality!
