You are only a week late??? If you have been stressing out about if you are pregnant or not that than that in itself can delay your period... However,,, Many women , including myself do not test positive til much later than some women. I don't test positive until I am about 6 weeks along... It is different from woman to woman.. I would wait( which is the hardest part, as the song goes)atleast another week or so...and if you still havne't started and the test is neg... you need to call your doctor.
Are you having any symptoms besides the late period... Tender breasts, nausea, lower back pain, etc. ??

Good luck...

Yes. The test can't detect the pregnancy hormones right away. My boyfriend actually gets symptoms before me! 3 years ago he asked me if I was pregnant. I said no way, I'm on birth control. (the patch) He said, "Because I am tired and constantly eating and hungry when I wake up. And that only happens when I get someone pregnant." He wanted me to take a test, so I did and sure enough I was pregnant! So this last time he asked me if I was pregnant (and I wasn't on birth control) I didn't question him. I took a test and it was negative! I was furious with him! "Who did you get pregnant? Because it's not me! So who is it?" Then 3 weeks later I noticed I couldn't sleep, no matter what. So I decided to take another test and it was positive. I was pregnant at the time, the test just couldn't detect it! Hell I don't need the test, I've got him to tell me if I'm pregnant! lol

Well. You might not be pregnant. As per my knowledge, first & last 7 days of period(i.e. 7 days before period & 7 days after period) are safe to have an intercourse. And your periods can due 7-15 days. One can not test within 15 days only. If Late Binding occurs, then it shows positive result after 25-30 days.
So, while testing, next time, test after 25 days. I mean, you can test. but, if you have doubt, you can wait till 25 days.
good luck.

You could still be pregnant, the tests may not be able to detect the HCG hormone yet depending on how pregnant you are. If you are pregnant and are only 1-2 weeks, then it's unlikely that you will get a positive result.

Well you might be, but probably not.

Pregnancy can only occur in a window of a few days, before you start having your period. I'd guess you're late for other reasons though. If your period doesn't come within the next four days you should call a doctor and see if it's something hormonal.

I suppose you still could be as your hormones could take a while to change strongly enough for the test to show but from my experience and other people I know the over the counter tests you by are completely accurate and if they say you are not pregnant I would be 99% sure your not. bes t to go to your doctor if your unsure

I'm a guy but have 4 children and plenty of experience in whether home pregnancy tests are accurate...this was told to me and my wife by an OB GYN...there are no false negatives in a home pregnancy test. if it shows neg you are definately not pregnant. You can however show a false positive for whatever reason and actually not be pregnant.

Yes, you could be pregant. I would sugest going to a doctors office. But also remember that stress and many other things can get your period off track.

id say you could be go to your doctor and ask him/her. bring a sample of your first urine in the morning and they say thats the best one for testing.
