I think they got too big for their britches. Last year they had survival to play for, then this year with Tevez and Macherno coming on, there were expectations of them turning into a much stronger side. Perhaps as well the Argies upset the chemistry, perhaps Harewood and company thought they had been dropped after their good season last year.
I don't think they will drop, but I predict a much humbler season mid table.

A number of reasons which has little to do with the way the Argentinians play. Expectations of the fans went up hugely with their arrival but they were not match fit. Then you have to ask what is the real reason for them being at Upton Park. Personally I never fancied Pardew and he proved me right in the first few years. Maybe he got lucky last year and it took the other teams a while to figure West Ham out. The players would also have been hugely motivated to retain their Premiership status a la Wigan. But this year? Somehow the Hammers need to get back to their roots for which they are famous i.e developing talent but this time keep it. If they are going to buy talent then Pardew is not the man to manage it. Get Curbishley in and start again.

They have gone away from their work ethics and tried to use Tevez and Mascherano without thinking what is the long term future.

they have disrupted a good side! players have been dropped,when picked will not put 100% in!last season they definanately over-achieved!
