people either walk out in the road despite seeing your car coming or if there already in the road they make no effort to get a move on and just walk across as slow as a tortoise.

Maybe there should be 1 day a year where drivers are allowed to run over stupid people who walk in the road ignoring cars/buses etc, without getting arrested?
Surely this would raise the profile of the sensible use of roads by pedestrians.
I think that the 'day' should be down to the individuals choice, so every driver has a 'day' rather than there being just one for everyone. That way, if there is uncertainty, pedestrians would always have to be aware of vehicles.

My religion is Orthodox Pedestrian and pedestrian rights are an obsession of mine. No. I do not think that people want to get run over, although I have heard of people looking to get hit in order to collect an insurance payout.
As a non-driving pedestrian advocate I must ask drivers to please pay attention and ALWAYS watch for walkers--and stay off the phone, the dashboard DVD, etc.
I have seen many, many cases of rude pedestrians stepping out in front of traffic, idling across the road, and otherwise not paying attention, but I have seen MANY more cases of negligent and/or oblivious drivers, careless drivers, red light runners and stop sign crawlers, speeders, crosswalk intruders, no look right turners, and on and on ad nauseum.
Please pay attention.

OK- I don't drive . . . but walking around I can see that clearly that you are right and some people have no sense . . . I also see you have deep anger and need to breath deeply. By the way- if you own a pink car or a convertible you ROCK.
P.S It doesn't count if it's a pink tractor lol :)

it's frustrating..but then when you are in a parking lot it seems everyone wants to knock you out of the way and pedestrians have the right of way in a parking lot.

one woman..(who was 100 yards or more away BEFORE i stepped out to cross) came barreling down the parking lot like it was the highway, my husband had a hold of my sons out in front, but i was walking behind carrying my 6 MONTH OLD BABY!! and this B!TCH KEPT coming...and almost hit me. she actually Swerved around me, and almost hit my other two children.

she only stopped when i KICKED her car as she passed me.
a police officer showed up shortly after, and i filed a compliant.

she could have killed me, or any of my children. all because i wouldn't get out of her way fast enough, when the traffic laws clearly state..pedestrians have the right of way.

ppl are impatient and rude, IN or OUT of their car.

hmm...wondering if it was Jaded's car i kicked!

Oh I hate when people do that, not that I drive, it really irritates me. They know that you are not going to run them over os they cross anyway.

Don't worry, next time run them over. Insurance will pay for it. Make sure you check your insurance box, where it states "Money for Jaywalkers"
