Why is itunes music store asking for my credit card details when i try to download a free track ?, is this just a one off joining fee or just to confirm who iam ??.

As far as I know, Itunes is NOT a free site, and you pay per track you download.

I joined some time ago and they asked for my details, so now when I log in, if I want a song, they automatically charge it to my card which I registered with.

Although I am using the diet coke 2 litre bottle wrappers at the moment - you get a code and can access up to five free downloads on there!

I think its beacuse they need to store ur details when u register, and then it means u wont have to keep giving ur details when u download stuff you have to pay for...if that makes sense
