There are three main options because the trouble with speakers that do not have their own power supply is that they are a real drain on your laptops batteries.
1. Low wattage "cheap" speakers which may give you a slightly better sound than your own machines.
2. Headphones are a better way to go, preferably cordless with their own battery supply. You can even get them with a microphone if you like chatting, conferencing etc.
3. Wireless speakers which can produce a more than reasonable quality of sound.
Don't forget all this adds wieght which on a plane can eat into your luggage allowance so on balance for cost and weight a reasonable pair of headphones, even those kind you use in MP3 Players (not iPods) would be the best idea (you can extension leads for them).
How about these? http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/53982 or
if you have bluetooth http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/115131 although you may turn into a cyberman.
Hope this helps

When faced with this problem I always use the KISS* protocol. If all you want is some cheap, small speakers you only need to go into a music / record shop and buy some speakers designed to plug into a walkman or personal CD player. Otherwise you could walk into the supermarket and get some specifically designed for surround applications for the PC but these are often powered through the USB port and can be a drain on the lap tops battery.

it really is because they are in reality plugged right into a headphone port. The laptop kills the audio gadget for the reason that extremely some human beings go back and forth with laptops and it would not make experience to listen on your song large loud with headphones on at the same time as the song is popping out of your audio gadget. there only isn't a fashion.
