Someone who does something just for the money.
I think Nelly Furtado sold out. Her first album was great. Her second one was good, but it didn't sell. Now all of a sudden she's all tarted up to push her latest... which isn't that great. Nelly, babes, you were sexual before you had to come out and say you were! Sheesh!

two things. 1.) when you want to go somewhere and its a "sold out" croud, no room for any more. ex: the concert was a sell out. 2.) when someone stands you up, doesn't show up for a date or something. like if something better comes along, they sell you out and go to do that instead.
