I would have to say that I'm pretty satisfied with my life right now. Sure I've had my ups and downs, but one learns from all experiences. I don't really have any complaints.

Life has had it's ups and downs, I could complain about the bad parts but I'd rather not dwell in it. Repeating the negative will make it linger on for a longer time and give it more power than necessary.

That Divorce Laws are very unfair (and, as a working female who earned more than her ex) -- I had to purchase my way out of that archaic form of slavery, even though I was battered/abused, had my property destroyed/damaged, funds stolen from my account, etc (short, horrific marriage) ...
That Child Support Enforcement is NOT enough -- and my ex was able to avoid being prosecuted and held accountable for approximately a decade and half of non-payment of Child Support, Medical co-pays/deductibles, Medical insurance, Shared Costs, etc. That amounts to many tens of thousands of dollars. Especially Notorious for NON-Enforcement is the State of California!
That Law Enforcement and the Legal System do NOTHING to protect those victims/Survivors of Domestic Violence -- my ex was allowed (in the marriage, during the divorce, and subsequent to divorce for approximately a decade and half now) to ROB my residence (multiple times), put his fists through my car windows, assault me, steal my vehicles, rob my office, assault/batter the children, steal my identity, etc etc etc -- and no real consequences for his behaviors. What irritates me about Law Enforcement is that they do NOT take this seriously -- and what IRRITATES and ANGERS me about JUDGES is that they do not want to issue Restraining Orders or Personal Orders of Protection because (and this is the judge's words) "don't see the threat in his behaviors".
Don't see the threat???? Well, when the ex comes to your residence, stalks the rural street you live on, damages your vehicle, gets your adult children to participate willingly and freely in the BURGLARY of your residence (taking high ticket items), 'claims' that they are "entitled" to your Retirement Benefits, etc -- where is the PROTECTION I DESERVE???
Answer: NO Domestic Violence Survivor/Victim is SAFE -- because these Judges sit on their comfy benches and DO NOT UNDERSTAND The HORROR of having to live in FEAR that even your own HOME is not safe forever after a disasterous marriage like this!
Other than that -- YES, Life is good -- but only because through hard work, putting myself through college and graduate school (and finishing my degrees), climbing up the promotions ladder, sacrificing luxuries so that I could purchase my own home, etc -- then yes, I HAVE a life as a Single Female that is good at this time -- no more caring for the ex, no more liability for either his behaviors or the now adult children, and ... I now have my home to myself, and can fix it up the way I WANT to fix it up and renovate it -- after all the problems associated with the ex's mental illnesses and the children's mental illnesses.
So life is getting better in my retirement years, and I am looking forward finally to being able to relax and figure out something that is fun for me to do.
