In a fraction 6 over 7.1 = 2.26, how do you get 2.26? Its an example question for something im working on and i have my replacements for the fraction, i need to know the steps taken to convert the fraction to that decimal. I have tried dividing n/d but it gives me a completely different answer. I need help!

i know by my own math knowledge the you divide n/d, but i keep getting 0.84... but the instructor got 2.62 as an answer to this example and i cant go further till i found out how he got this particular answer.

Maybe you overlooked 16 by 6. Try 16 over 7.1 and will give you 2.26. Try to pay attention in copying.

secret is right, 2.26 is wrong answer

6/7.1

=60/71( i.e. both Numerator and denominator
multipled by 10 to remove decimals)

=.845

6/7.1 isnt even close to 2.26... its 0.845

since 6 is smaller than 7.1, there's no way its a number above 1.

i think of that's D simply by fact Pie is 3.14 so it can't be A. The radius of a circle is often distinctive so Pi nonetheless can't be equivalent to it. i don't get C. and then D is left The formula for looking a circumference to a circle is Pi situations the diameter of the circle, so by skill of dividing the circumference of a circle you get Pi Sorry if i am going incorrect however....

Hey, I dont think thats correct, maybe they were using a different formula? because 6x2.26 gives you 13.56.. you should be able to multiply the nom. by the answer and get the original denom.
what was the problem?
