I'm looking to buy one and I'm not sure if it's worth the money. Can they run at the same time?

Absolutely! Just get a SATA card if your Mother board is older or does not have SATA components installed.

Sure, i have one of each in mine...just make sure you have a RAID driver for the SATA drive, and enjoy.

yes!!
Its just that your motherboard should have an IDE and a Sata connector.You also need to use differnt cables.

yes if you have both ports on your motherboard! (ide and sata)
