Normally we come to know after joining that the amount we gave at the time of answering the question about expected salary was less. Company might have given more if asked at the time of selection. But how to judge to avoid fear of rejection due to non-affordable of expected salary by the company. Sometime HR person also cleverly & psychologically negotiate to bring down the expected amount

Just a small Tip Given to my by an Elder never negotiate a set salary until probation on job is over Always answer that question with Open Salary after hired negotiate for the highest then grudgingly settle for a bit (not a Lot) less.just a Tip .

Bhai mere, this is a question that confuses everyone including me. The answer depends on your needs. If you're already in a good job, and this offer has just come your way, ask for 50-75% hike. No harm done if they reject you.

If you're in need of a job and you've some experience, I would recommend you ask your colleagues (who have the same qualification and experience) and then quote a figure to the HR.

Oh and if you're a fresher. Then stop thinking about money, look at the experience they are offering.

You may be in the public relations business or some other form of gambling. I work based on my license. I put down, "competitive" in the employment application blank for salary expected. In my country an employer would be sued for discrimination if they paid anyone more or less than the standard amount based on license and degree.

the better u bargain better u will get
your interview ,qualifications are the criteria that
determines your salary.
if you have a the required skills then u will be able to
reach a consensus.also u can ask them for more responsibilities
in return of higher salary
