Yeppers! Relaxing in a bath also helps with milk "let-down" and allows both the baby and mom to enjoy breastfeeding even more. And they're all right, perfumed soaps, oils and lotions shouldn't be used on the nipple area. My doc said that you can wash your body with whatever you want, even your breasts, just NOT the nipple area. The smells/tastes might turn your baby away from feeding and make for quite a fussy baby.
Enjoy your bath, you deserve it! :D

To all those who answered
Im sorry but there are some days I think that common sense is no longer around in anyone.
Of course you can.
Why couldn't you? As long as you rinsed well.
The heat of the bath is irrelevanat as well. Its not like a microwave your body regulates the temp of the milk....having a hot bath doesn't make the milk hotter. Get a grip helz. Your increased bodyheat drops rapidly once your out and wont affect a baby sod all.
As long as you rinse off well...most people do for some reason....the type of soap and using soap at all has absolutely no bearing on feeding a baby.
Use your brains!
I have 3 children
as well eldest of 13 brothers and sisters
and eldest of 48 grandchildren

Yes, the only point to note is that if you have your bath v. v. hot - you'll be radiating alot of bodyheat for a good 10-15 minutes after getting out - which might cause bubs to get a little overhot if they're breast feeding. Might be best to leave it a wee while. If you have normal temp bath I can't see a problem though. The warm water quite often encourages milk flow.

Yes. In fact sometimes I take baths with my babies (much easier than leaning over a tub) and they will breastfeed while I'm taking a bath!

Yes it's safe! You can even do it while you are in the bath. Sometimes I would be soaking in the tub and my "midget" would wake up. Her dad would frantically pick her up and run with her to the bathroom to give her to me.

Yes, but you should make sure you have rinsed all soap off completely and don't have any perfumed lotions or anything on.

Yes. But you should not be washing your breasts with soap.
And the best would be to use natural soaps. Check out;
