There is a number of causes for acne and spotty skin.
1. Age, your hormones when going through puberty can cause a lot of stress on your body. one of the effects is acne. many people find that once their hormones settle down their spots clear up.
2. Hereditary problems. check out your family (mums especially) if they are still getting spots after puberty then acne is probably in your genes. there are a number of causes of this including glands, hormones & stress factors as well as other skin conditions like excema.
3. diseases & conditions such as PCOS (polycystic oviary syndrome) can cause further hormone inbalances as well as more serious side effects. it is worthwhile(once all other possible causes have proved unlikely) checking this out with your GP.
4. Diet. there are many foods that can cause spots - either by effecting the hormone levels or stress levels in your body. A good naturalist or nutritionist could help you with this.
Finally - the best resolution to spots is: keep your skin clean, get into the habit of a good daily cleansing routine. there are lots of products (not expensive) available to help. Garlic is a natural skin cleanser - eat lots of it (and smell!) or take daily odourless garlic capsules to help your skin, circulation, heart & immune system. Try not to wear too much makeup (if your wear any) and keep a diary of your food intake - you may notice a pattern emerging.
Good luck, spots are not the end of the world - and don't believe anyone when they say dont squeeze them - often it is the only way to remove them!

what age do spot naturally clear off from the skin?
No definite age, my dear. Visit your dermatologist and get the best advice. Every skin reacts differently depending on the texture of your skin and how you take care of your skin.
Important is, drinking two liters of liquid a day,
water is healthier, and eating carrots and much vitamin D. Just eating the right kind of food for a nice skin. Go and visit your skin doctor, ok?
Good luck,my dear!

Well there is never an age when your spots come off. You are always prone to spots. If you want to get rid of them, go to the doctor and ask for a cream called: Quinoderm for acne.
It get rid of spots and scars within 3-4 days. Use a moisturiser after Quinoderm or else you will get very bad dry skin.

Acne didn't slow down for me until I was nearly 30. I still struggle with an occasional spot (I'm 34) but I believe that they are indeed slowing to a stop soon.

Never. I escaped them as a child and teenager, then at 25ish I suddenly started to get them and I'm 39 now and still do! I buy freederm and make a point of saying it's for my daughter which is a big give away it's for me, especially when I'm stood there with a big zit on my chin!
