Just call the embassy - it's dead easy. I have a habit of losing my passport overseas, have done it several times in various places - and with the amount of Brits in Spain I'm sure they process a lot of passport applications. They'll post the forms out to you if you tell them you're having trouble getting them, and since it's just a replacement/renewal passport you can do the whole thing by post - to from the embassy.

Best thing to do is contact the British embassy, either here or in Spain. A really good resource for Brits in Spain is www.andalucia.com with loads of info and great forums as well with lots of knowledgable people who've been through everything.

Download forms from the British Embassy in Spain. You can print the forms and then send them off with the money. We did this last year and sent them to Madrid and got them back with l week.. They are a more effficent than in the UK.

It's not as easy as it sounds. I live in Barcelona and a few years ago I had to renew my passport. You'll have to go to the nearest Embassy, mine was in Barcelona and ask for the reinvent forms. It takes quite a while and cost about 83€ as they have to forward it to Madrid and then to London, mine took about 2 weeks and they informed me when I had to go and collect it.

Go to your nearest consulate, they'll give you the relevent forms.
I did it that way in Turkey and it was quicker and cheaper than it would have been in the UK.
