Alright, according to me Mc-afee and AVG are two awesomely good anti-virus softwares.
Of course , Norton antivirus is the Best.
But, if ytou want a free-ware try the AVG free versin. Its not the best, but
-Its free-ware
-It doesnt slow down your comp.
-Easy detects and removes 90% of all the viruses and the n rest 10 wont have much effect on your comp.

Peace out.

Mcafee Antivirus www.mcafee.com You have to buy it first.
Norton Antivirus www.norton.com You have to buy it first.
AVG Free Edition 7.5 free.grisoft.com/doc/1 You dont have to buy it first.
Avast Free Antivirus Version 8 www.avast.com You dont have to buy it first.
Free Antivirus www.freeav.com You dont have to buy it first.
Kaspersky Antivirus Version 6 www.kaspersky.com You have to buy it first.

All of these are good.
AVG, Avast and free antivirus have also professional editions that come with a lot of extra features. But they are not available free of cost.

Macafee is terrible, it eats up so many system resources. The Norton (Symantec) software is the best. AVG is ok, but doesn't protect against all viruses. My suggestion is that rather than asking here, you read the reviews at CNET

Mcafee is really really really good. But you have to upgrade it every 18 months or something. But it's totally worth it. See if you can download it and crack it. Sometimes this works.
