my birthday is coming up (I'll be turning 17) and I plan to throw a pool party. How can I make the pool party cool enough so that no one is bored and every one is having a good time? I plan to have beer, but is it a good idea? most people would be under 18.

As an adult who enjoys drinking alcohol, I still find beer hard to drink (it doesn't taste good to me). Since you are young, you will probably be inviting a lot of people your age--I wager a lot of them aren't too used to drinking (yet), so the beer may not be appreciated too much. It might have "fun" value if you feel like you're doing something adult.
To make the pool party cool, just make sure that you have the pool! Also, remember to stock up heavily on snacks and yummy food items. Don't forget to have LOTS of snacks. People love it.
For atmosphere you can play some music; after that, just chill out and enjoy the party. If people get bored, they'll leave. It's cool like that. B)

No beer or you could get in trouble. Everyone could bring a funny hat. That's always a good icebreaker. Have a CD player outside and people could also bring their favorite Cd's. Play silly games (check online), have dancing, have a silly door prize, lots of good food and before you know it, it will be a great party.

u so dumb. ur whole family gonna lose they house cuz u wanna look cool and provide beer for minor. u don't watch the news fool? u see kids dying over that mess and parents charged wit crime -- i swear some people so dumb. 5 year from now them kids not even gonna remember yo name, it be just another party. why provin yourself to others. u too dumb to be 7 let alone 17. jail is waiting to do u n' yo pops up butt when it come time.

make it a luau with a tiki bar. get everyone to come in grass skirts and Hawaiian shirts. at the tiki bar, you can even serve underage drinkers non-alcoholic daiquiris
