Got a red light photo ticket tonight in OC, CA. To make things worse, I was driving my mother in law's car. yikes!!! I haven't had a ticket for 2+ years. I know I can go to traffic school for speeding, what about for red light infraction? I really want this removed, because the last thing I want is to raise the insurance of my mother in laws car. The car is registered under her name.

Anyone know about this or any other pointers would be appreciated! I would prefer a traffic school near Burbank or OC. thanks!

Well, it'd be a bit complicated, as when the camera takes the photo, it takes different ones, one of the front and back of the car, the plate # and a photo of you, and they try to match all of it through DMV records of course. So if the plate doesn't match the record with the CADL your mother in law will need to tell them you were the one driving the vehicle at the time of the violation and evidence will need to be presented.

In case you didn't know you can do your traffic school on line, instead of going all the way to Burbank or OC, regardless you can look up many different ones on google, there is a very long directory of them should you choose to go in person. Your mother in law will get the ticket in the mail of where her vehicle is registered, whatever address was used, so I'd suggest you let her know immediately and apologize, tell her you will pay it and go to traffic school at once, explain it won't be on her record but yours and will be off anyhow.

Hope this helped.

Yes, I believe you can - but you will probably need to declare it was you driving.

Don't' forget you can do your traffic school on line if it is more convenient.
