you dropped a valve out of your head and its banging on the piston. time to junk it or put a new motor in it. used motors are hard to come by for them cars because 80% of the time they are in the junk yard for the same reason. most people neglect changing the timing belt ever 80,000 so that engine self distructs when the belt goes. then it cost more to fix the one in you car than what it is to buy a new one. check out http://jasperengines.com/ this sight sells quality reman engines so it will give you a idea of what kind of money your looking at to repair your car.

The mitsubishi's have an interfering engine....sounds kinda like the timing chain went out and bent a valve slightly, and bent a rod or broke a piston. It can happen and the engine can still run on all 4. Sounds like the valve interfered and cracked a piston though. I think you may need another motor. Good luck.

WD40 isn't the reply. the reply is to tighten the belt. The alternator is affixed to a bracket that has a "oval" hollow(its the words that come to me to describe a hollow it somewhat is used for shifting the alternator inward or outward or adjusting) you want to loosen the bolt that exhibits on the single area of the hollow and then you will be able to flow the alternator outward with a pry-bar or large screwdriver so as that it really is pulling extra sturdy hostile to the belt. possibly an identical tale for the flexibility guidance pump. and possibly an identical tale for the A.C. unit.. I say "possibly" because if all 3 issues were employing 1 million belt to stress them; then you actually only choose one adjuster. Belts will be compared to new footwear. They fit tight at the same time as new, yet when you've walked in them a pair of years they fit like slip-ons, or only downright sloppy because the textile has stretched. somewhat, a minor adjustment. yet then again, some human beings will stress them for years squealing away. At this aspect the belt is glazed over with the years of slipping and it really is extra ideal only to interchange the belt with a clean one. it somewhat is all i will allow you to recognize is incorrect with that section. Even motor vehicle sales human beings have their own mechanics so he would understand it somewhat is all it somewhat is. His low value is for yet an additional reason. heavily inspect the bodywork. in case you do not sense adept at reading the mechanics of it, attempt to convey an all-round mechanic you've self belief with you to grant you his effect (he can not make a assure) it really is only what he sees and hears outright to propose you. would fee somewhat you some funds for his time. flow from there.

Could be a broken engine mount. They cause a loud "roar" if they break. Look at engine while somebody revs it up, if it's moving a lot (like more than a 1/2 inch in vibration), you broke a motor mount. Not that expensive.
