I hate the fact that Cosmo emphasizes the fact of pleasing the man,but never mentions what a man can do for you.It sets the womens movement back 50 yrs.

Sometimes it's bad, and sometimes it's ok. I might be confused with a different magazine, but I thought I read an article about a writer that had many one night stands and she rated them all. Most were only 2/5. Only 2 or 3 were 4/5, one 5/5. At least the writer gives the message that ONS sex is poor quality sex. I think good quality sex only occurs in a COMMITTED EXCLUSIVE LOVING relationship. British Cosmo said that 75% of readers regretted their one night stands. I can't say I am surprised! I don't have them, but my friend does. Then I have to listen to her whine about it and ask, "DO you think he will call" and other ridiculous stupid questions. Then she asks why she NEVER gets asked out on dates, and I always get asked. That's because all she has is one night stands with single/married/engaged men and friends with benefits. Actually, they only see her for the 'benefits' that's the only time they see her, so I don't know what you call that.
We have all told her to stop her wild ways, but she never does. Her number is in the triple digits. She ruined her reputation many years ago.
It's true, Cosmo usually has the same info every month, but occasionally there is an article that catches my eye.

Wow, I can't believe this topic got posted! I have been buying this magazine every month since I was 16, used to totally love it. But, for quite some time now I have been noticing it is not nearly as interesting as I once thought it was. I agree, it is ALL about sex and I, too, get really tired of the stupid list of "blow his mind" tips EVERY SINGLE MONTH!
I always go to the real-life read, I like that the best, and I still enjoy the beauty advice, but you can definitely get that from other mags. I thought this was just because I was getting old, but I guess not. This may be $4/month I don't have to spend anymore, it will still be a hard habit to break, though!

Cosmo just pushes it a little too far. I like those fashion, beauty, sex type magazines but Cosmo is just too trashy. I like Glamour...similar idea, just a little more clean.

If you followed all the advice Cosmo gave you, you would have 100+ sexual partners... I personally think the magazine is super raunchy!

That magazine is getting old quick. I used to take it then decided it wasn't worth it. I was embarrassed when the mail man had to put it in my box. Marie Claire is a good one.

I think most teen magazines or "girly" magazines are setting a bad example for todays youth and young women. They are getting there personality from a mail order or news stand instead of thinking for themselves

No, it is truely crap. Somebody should make a girl version of Maxim where it's all hot guys and humor.

I don't read women's magazines. I guess I just find them a little boring.
