is there a special tool? do you have to take steering wheel off? anyhting on the column need to be taken apart?

Strip off the wheel, then work your way down the column... about same amount of work as replacing the turn signal switch. Not fun at all and probably take you 3 hours if you have a good set of tools...

You'll need a 13/16 socket, ext and ratchet, phillips screwdriver-small one for hazard knob, med one for turn sig switch, lock plate compressor, pocket screwdriver and a torx driver for the screw holding switch in. (don't remember the torx size)

you will have to remove steering wheel ,turn sig sw, key reminder contact ,its plastic thing that is on right by screw that holds in key cyl .then it will slide out.
