If all you're worried about is failure to show up for jury duty, then don't worry! I've missed it the last three times I've been called, and they've done nothing about it. What can they do, really? They can't imprison you--otherwise they'd have to imprison everyone who didn't vote!! They are both civic "duties", and some people are against having to serve on a jury! I refuse to stand in judgment of others--who am I to judge??! They'd like to make you think that you'll be hunted down and prosecuted, but it just isn't true! Of course, it's BEST to have a physician or psychologist or some other professional get you out of it using a proper channel, but if you can't, just don't show up! Simple!

It is unlikely you do. They usually don't issue warrants for that.

If the jury/court people had your correct address you would have recieved a summons (its unlike they would actually arrest) by now.

It will not do any good to call the police or court clerk. They will generally not tell. This is because if people know they have a warrant they will take off.

But, it you want to be double safe--go down to the police department and ask them to check.

If you know anyone (police, lawyer)--aske them to get a police record. You can even order one over the Internet--however--I would not rely on these--as they are incomplete.

Missing jury duty is the last thing on the courts mind. You won't have a warrant for that.

If the courts issue warrants for everyone who missed jury duty, the courts would be even more backed up then they already are. I wouldn't sweat it. Jury notices come by regular mail. Not certified mail. They don't even know for sure if you even received it. Trust me, I know from experience.

Call them .. it's UNLIKELY that there is a warrant because you failed to appear for jury duty ..thy send BUNCHES of notices out .. often people have moved..they have no way of knowing and don't follow up. I would not worry about it ..

simple, just call the local police agency in the town or county where you failed to appear. the dispatcher will be more than happy to look up your name and ss# to see if you have a warrant and advise you on the best course of action to resolve it. trust me... i have had to do it a lot. they are usually very nice and will help all they can.

If you know somebody running a business, ask them for a favour: run a background check as if they were hiring you. If something comes up, your friend could tell you without being accused of helping you.
